The formula worked, and it's the same formula Cannibal Corpse is still using today: tight, technical songs that balance a mosh pit aesthetic with blistering spurts of jugular blood, delivered through a near endless reservoir of memorable riffs. I actually enjoy this album more today than I did when it released, though there are 2-3 songs here that I could live without and so it's a ways from perfect. As the best Chris Barnes fronted death metal album in history, it deserves a listen and a spot on the meat rack of any young masochist. So how is this album overall? Well, it clearly states in the rules of metal that metal songs must have riffs. And here, we have riffs. Memorable riffs, catchy riffs, fun to play riffs; but also, we have the obligatory boring, forgetful riffs. It seems that this album is somewhat of a weighing scale. For every crap thing that goes off, we have a great riff. While I will always be preferential to the conservative thrash tendencies of "Eaten Back To Life", this is very easily Cannibal Corpse's 2nd best offering, and probably the most recommended amongst younger death metal fans who know the band through their current line up. It's varied and technical enough to placate the rabid fervor for more notes jammed into every single second of sonic mayhem, yet still very much in the consistent grain that the band is known for. But more so than anything else, it knows when to keep things brief and to the point. BUY OR DIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cannibal Corpse are considered to be an important figure in the death metal genre, and they are one of its most commercially successful bands. siapapun all Metalhead Freak pasti sangat Mengenal akan kebesaran nama CANNIBAL CORPSE ! yang hingga kini kerap disebut sebagai The Almighty Of Gore itu. Menjadi salah satu Pioner penting Perkembangan Death Metal yang Lebih liar dan Brutal, Sosok Cannibal Corpse yang mulai terbentuk sejak Tahun 1988 di Buffalo, New York dianggap album Pertama dan Terdasyat mereka sepanjang sejarah Death Metal Internasional " Eaten Back to Life " menjadi Album Inspirator Wajib death metal generasi selanjutnya. mulai mengenalkan diri dengan demo " Cannibal Corpse " Tahun 1989, Band ini masih tampil solid dengan Formasi Ampuhnya, dimana saat itu Cannibal Corpse ( CC ) sudah mengenalkan elemen Musik death Metal yang lebih cepat dibanding dengan pelopor-nya, Slayer ! bisa elo denger sosok Vokalis Karismatik Chris Barnes di demo tersebut masih menggunakan Karakter Vokal Biasa ala Band2 Death/Thrash Metal awal, namun akhirnya menjadi cikal bakal Bentuk karakter Vokal Baru yang lebih Nge-growl memasuki album pertama " Eaten Back To Life ", demo ini sangat mengejutkan Publik metal era 90-an dengan terobosan musik yang Mulai beringas dan kejam, walau cuman di rilis dengan Cover Photo copyan dan diedarkan terbatas hingga 200 kopi saja dan menjadi rare collector's item yang masih banyak diburu oleh Fans CC pada kepengen tahu bagaimana perkembangan awal band keren ini dimulai. dan demo inilah yang menarik Minat Label Metal Besar Metal Blade Records untuk meminang mereka dalam Roster-nya, alhasil 17 Agustus tahun 1990 ( pas Hari kemerdekaan RI hehehehe .ed ) CC yang sebelumnya menggodok materinya di Morrisound Studio bersama Scott Burns sebagai Enjiner dan Produser menggarap materi Pertama keren CC yang menjadi Masterpiece mengagumkan hingga saat ini. dengan Lukisan Mengerikan karya Vincent Locke yang menggambar Imej Cannibal Corpse menjadi tamparan keras oleh Para Guru dan orang Tua anak yang melihat Artwork CC dianggap terlalu " Sadis " sehingga pada beberapa Rilis awal CC kerap mendapat Kecaman dan sensor pihak awam yang belum mengenal betul karakter Artwork CC yang memang dari sononya terkenal dengan Pesan Moral " Explicit Artwork & Lyrics ". dan ternyata Gw masih sangat inget banget bagaimana Pertama kali Gw mengenal dan Membeli kaset CC pertama ini menjadi Koleksi Pertama CC saat gw duduk di Bangku SMP. pada suatu sore bersama abang Gw seperti biasa Hunting dibeberapa Toko Kaset langsung menemukan kaset ini yang cuman saat itu hanya ada 1 copy, sudah mengenal nama CC dari banyak Thanxs list band cukup menjadi Modal referensi band yang selama ini jadi Buruan, album pertama " Eaten Back To Life " dengan harga 7 Ribu Perak ini gw dapatkan hehehehe, di lisensi untuk pasaran Indonesia oleh PT. Stupa Pratama Raya Indonesia, Kaset dengan Layout dan sleeve simple ini masih tersimpan Rapi dalam Laci Koleksi Klasik Metal Gw hehehehe. langsung memukau awal dengan Track " Shredded Humans ", CC mencoba menampilkan karakter bermain yang Terasa berbeda oleh pengusung awal2nya. hentakan Pummeling Beat menonjok dibarengi dengan Growl Vokal Gahar yang mengikuti Pattern Beat Musik menciptakan Ciri Khas CC yang tak terlupakan hingga sekarang dan sangat Menginspirasi Band2 era sekarang tentunya. gaya Sharpness Blade Riffing Bob Rusay dan Bob Rusay menjadi icon penting karakter CC selain permainan drum Paul Mazurkiewicz sebagai nyawa Utama band. " Edible Autopsy " menerjang keras dengan Fast Part, It’s not as extreme as CC next few albums which a lot of fans seem to focus on while neglecting the genius of this one. hampir semua track disini sangat memorable banget dan melegenda, seperti juga track " A Skull Full of Maggots " yang hingga sekarang menjadi Anthem wajib CC disetiap penampilannya. dan Gw masih inget pertama kali nge-Band Metal, lagu CC yang Gw cover adalah " Buried in the Backyard " hehehehe .... membicarakan Nama CC memang tiada habisnya dalam perkembangan Death Metal Musik yang selalu saja terkontaminasi dengan karakter kuat CC yang legendaris banget. dan prestasi yang mengagumkan dari CC adalah Death Metal band yang paling sukses dengan menjual lebih dari satu juta keping album di dunia tanpa masuk ke radio atau televisi. dengan Mengusung Kuat Konsep lagu bertemakan tentang kekerasan, kematian, penyiksaan, kanibalisme, sihir, dan agama melalui Gaya Bahasa yang Sarkatis, ga heran pada awal kemunculannya, CC kerap menghadapi segala Pertentangan dari Kecaman Berat dari Senator Amrik, Bob Dole ditahun 1995 dengan Pencekalan CC tampil di Amrik, dan tidak datang dari negara mereka sendiri, Australia melakukan Pencekalan semua Produk Album CC dari semua Toko Musik melalui Sensor berlebihan sampai dilarang beredarnya Album CC di Negeri Kanguru itu tahun 1996, dan dijerman sendiri, beberapa Album CC dibanned peredarannya, namun akhirnya Kondisi pun mulai melunak dengan diterapkannya Sistem Packing " Uncensored & Censored " Release, yaitu dengan membuat Bentuk lain dari Artwork CC bagi pembeli dibawah usia 18 tahun, namun justru dari segala Kondisi ini Pamor CC pun semakin melambung dan selalu Sold Out pada setiap Rilisannya, bahkan tetap diburu hingga sekarang, menuai dari Kontroversi, CC justru semakin Tinggi Reputasi hehehehe, setelah album Pertama, selanjutnya CC kian produktif dengan materi album Ke-2 " Butchered at Birth " tahun 1991 kembali Masterpiece di hasilkan oleh Produser dan Enjiner Scott Burn, album ini sangat sukses di pasaran plus semakin melambungkan reputasi CC, dilanjut dengan album Ke-3 " Tomb of the Mutilated " tahun 1992, Karya Dasyat Scott Burns tetap laris manis dipasaran, Album yang Sukses dengan track " Hammer Smashed Face ", sehingga aktor Komedian populer seperti Jim Carey menjadi salah seorang fans berat CC memaksa sutradara untuk menampilkan Cannibal Corpse dalam film Ace Ventura: Pet Detective tahun 1994, karena memang Track tersebut adalah track paling favoritnya. dan Formasi Sadis album2 Top CC mulai berakhir memasuki album ke-4 " The Bleeding " tahun 1994, album pertama tanpa kehadiran Gitaris Bob Rusay yang tergantikan oleh Kehadiran Gitaris tangguh Rob Barret yang pernah memperkuat Malevolent Creation masuk tahun 1993, dan lalu pasca 1 tahun album ke-4 ini dirilis, masalah berat mulai menghampiri CC dengan Hengkang-nya Vocalis Chris Barnes membawa serta Logo CC yang diciptakannya pada awal band ini terbentuk untuk tidak dipakai lagi oleh CC, dan Rumor beredar keluarnya Christ dari CC karena beberapa Penampilan panggung Christ Kurang mendukung dan kerap Kedodoran dan beberapa sikapnya yang kurang disukai Member lain, hengkang dari CC, Christ Pun membentuk Six Feet Under sebagai Rumah Barunya. kekosongan Vocal langsung tergantikan oleh kandidat kuat yang dipilih sendiri oleh member lain sepakat untuk menggunakan Mantan Vocalis Band Monstrosity, George " Corpsegrinder " Fisher untuk menggantikan karakter Baru di CC, langsung saja Kebolehannya di training dibeberapa panggung dan mendapat respon yang hangat berujung dilepaskannya album Ke-5 " Vile " tahun 1996, masih mencoba peruntungan baru, Album ini pun diterima oleh Fans CC yang kebanyakan masih merindukan karakter Vokal seorang Christ Barnes, namun karakter bernyanyi George terbukti sangat enerjik dan pas dengan progresi musik CC yang semakin berkembang !, namun anggapan pun kerap menghampiri gw dengan sebuah pertanyaan singkat : CC tanpa Vocalis Christ Barnes = Kurang Menendang !!! hahahahaha, bongkar pasang Formasi pun terjadi ditubuh CC dan Produktifitas Hingga kini tetep Berjalan dan eksis menjual Jutaan Keping Rilisan Pasaran Internasional, dan perlu dicatat aja, kalau CC adalah salah satu " Anak Emas " Label Metal Blade Records yang merilis semua Album2 CC dari awal hingga terbaru. well semakin menambah daftar panjang perjalanan band ini dan terlalu Panjang untuk mengupas band ini, yang pasti Setiap Memorable Rilisan CC, gw masih tetap terbius dengan Keganasan Album pertama " Eaten Back To Life " ditambah 3 album selanjutnya bagi gw adalah Perjalanan Sejarah Death Metal dengan Beat Ngebut semakin berkembang hingga era sekarang, so siapa seh yang ga kenal kedasyatan album " Eaten Back To Life " ditambah 3 rilisan selanjutnya bakal gw kasih sebutan " Metal Poser " hahahaha ... dan sukses album pertama ini tetap bisa terbuktikan sampai detik ini, Metal Blade Records beberapa kali merilis Ulang selalu SOLD OUT ! dan beberapa kali di lisensi dibeberapa Label Partner selalu memiliki Angka penjualan yang Luar biasa ! This album would probably be a good introduction for metalheads new to Cannibal Corpse or to death metal in general, as it is at least slightly less extreme than what followed. It's good, solid death metal that shows a band ready to take over the world with their brand of ultra gory death metal. And that's exactly what they soon did. All in all, this is the best Cannibal Corpse album, of any point in their careers. If you listen to Corpse Grinder era Corpse, but never heard this album, you're missing out.
