Terlalu banyak di Cekokin ama Genre Death/thrash Metal dan Grindcore, gw pada awal menjadi Adiktif dengan Musik Metal Cadas gw sampai Belum sepenuhnya memahami Genre yang ada selain yang gw sebutin barusan, dan Dikenalkannya genre Black Metal ini adalah menjadi Salah Tafsiran plus salah kaprah aja deh hahahaha, sebelum mengenal lebih jauh Konsep Black Metal yang era 90-an juga berkembang pesat, gw termasuk tergolong telat untuk genre yang satu ini.     sebelumnya Gw mengenal Nama Cradle Of Filth dari seorang temen Gw di malang yang banyak ngasih Kontribusi dan referensi Band2 yang bermunculan kala itu, gw sudah duduk di bangku kelas 2 SMA kalau ga salah, dan saat itu Gw bertanya, band Black Metal apa yang Bagus nih? oh ya sebelumnya Gw sudah mengenal band2 black metal seperti Samael, Marduk, Dark Funeral, Hecate Enthroned ampe The Black en baru mengerti simbol lingkaran hitam berkepala kambing adalah sebuah Pentagram, .... adalah sebuah lambang berbentuk bintang berujung lancip lima yang digambar dengan lima garis lurus. Kata pentagram sendiri berasal dari bahasa Yunani " pentagrammon ", sebuah kata yang mempunyai makna "bergaris lima" atau "lima garis". Pentagram digunakan secara simbolis pada masa Yunani kuno dan Babilonia. Pentagram dihubungkan dengan dunia sihir, dan banyak orang yang mempunyai kepercayaan paganisme mengenakan kalung berbentuk pentagram. Agama Kristen pernah menggunakan pentagram dengan umum untuk melambangkan lima luka Yesus, namun umat Kristen saat ini mengaitkan bentuk tersebut dengan Setan. Meskipun begitu, kebanyakan orang yang menggunakan bentuk ini bukanlah pemercaya Setan. Para pemercaya Setan menggunakan pentagram Pythagoras (satu ujung mengarah ke bawah) yang digambarkan menyentuh sebuah lingkaran ganda, dengan kepala Baphomet dalam pentagram tersebut. Mereka menggunakannya seperti Pythagoras, namun huruf-huruf Yunani yang digunakan Pythagoras biasanya digantikan huruf-huruf Ibraniyang membentuk nama Leviathan. dan kebanyakan Imej Band Black Metal era itu menggunakan Simbol ini, seperti halnya Venom ! dan tidak tau kalau untuk pertama kalinya gw sudah punya kaset Black Metal loh, yaitu Album-nya Samael " Whorsip Him " yang memang sama sekali pada awalnya Gw tidak tahu kalau album tersebut masuk Genre Black Metal hehehehe, setelah dikasih tau nama Cradle Of Filth adalah band Black Metal yang populer, gw langsung melakukan Hunting dan sempat kesulitan mendapatkannya ditoko kaset selain akhirnya menemukan di sebuah Lapak Distro saat Gw nonton untuk pertama kalinya Event Underground ma temen2 yang lain di Kota Malang, album " The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh " yang pertama kali Gw dapatkan, lisensi Produksi dari VSP ( Valentine Sound Production ) Malasya seharga 10 ribu, dan entah ini produk Orisinil atau Bootleg Gw kagak ngerti waktu itu yang penting isinya aja hehehehe ... sebuah album perdana yang membuat Gw langsung jatuh hati dengan konsep yang ditawarkan oleh Band Symphonic Black Metal asal UK yang terbentuk sejak 1991 dengan konsep death metal pada 2 demo awalnya. Genre Black metal yang kala itu memang lebih Menonjol Karakter Bernyanyi yang seperti Orang menjerit jerit / Scream memikat hati gw dari permainan Yang aktraktif dari sosok Symphonic Black metal megah, sangat menginspirasi perkembangan Metal di Indonesia, yang pada tahun 1995 banyak banget band2 black metal bermunculan di Scene Indonesia seperti Hellgod, Impish, Haze, Perish, dll sangat terinspirasi oleh Cradle Of Filth ( COF ) ini. When it comes to Cradle of Filth, I have always appreciated their early records a lot more than their new Extreme Gothic Metal style. This album really is an example of how well black/dark metal could be done back in the early '90s. Memulai dengan " Darkness Our Bride (Jugular Wedding) " sebuah Intro Horror mencekam selama durasi 2 menit cukup untuk membuat rasa penasaran Gw dengan bagaimana Gaya Bermusik COF itu, kemudian " The Principle of Evil Made Flesh " langsung menerjang dengan Fast part, Gw sangat terkesima dengan gaya Multiple Vokal keren seorang Dani Filth yang menggunakan 3-4 karakter vokal sekaligus, hentakan mantap Drummer bertubuh Besar, Nicholas Barker kerap memainkan skill dan Variasi drum yang menakjubkan, dibalut dengan elemen keyboard Benjamin Ryan, konsep COF semakin Membuat decak kagum gw waktu itu, permainan yang Matang dan Dinamis hasil dari progresi karya2 mereka sebelumnya yang Kontroversial sekedar mencari Jatidiri, COF di album pertama ini banyak menemukan Terobosan gaya Black metal yang Inovatif jauh dari kesan Monoton, dengan gaya Shriek Vokal yang Powerfully, Dani Filth seperti-nya termasuk berhasil menciptakan Karakter Utama musik COF yang sesungguhnya di album ini. I love the occult feeling of the album, and the unpolished nature of it adds to the mystique Cradle of Filth have been consistent in their crusade to forge an undeniably unique musical path, and Principle is incredibly interesting in a historical context, as it provides the launch pad to the greatness first explored. kemudian Track Faforite dan Memorable bagi gw adalah " The Forest Whispers My Name " banyak memainkan Skill2 yang dinamis antar member-nya dan lebih melepaskan nuansa Black metal murni yang terkesan membosankan, COF menambahkan beberapa gaya Death/thrash yang elegan. di track ini Drummer Nicholas secara maksimal menyumbangkan teknik bermain drum yang bagus dan Variatif banget ! The vocals are always nasty but the few mid-paced breaks come always with some keyboards parts just to sustain the darker atmosphere. dan akhirnya wabah Black metal begitu menjadi Booming saat Gw memiliki Kaset ini, dan temen2 gw bikin band black metal dan bawain Track Ini pula, langsung deh nama COF dipuja2 temen2 gw yang menjadi New Bie Metal saat itu hehehehehe .... track keren selanjunya silahkan simak keindahan yang Bengis dalam kegelapan " The Black Goddess Rises, A Crescendo of Passion Bleeding, To Eve the Art of Witchcraft, hingga Summer Dying Fast ", COF seperti-nya tidak terlalu Kental disebut sebagai Band Pure Black Metal, karena beberapa sentuhan permainan yang serba Variatif menjadi awal yang mengagumkan untuk Dani Filth Cs ini. tahun 1996 COF kembali merilis materi baru dalam format Ep " Vempire or Dark Faerytales in Phallustein " yang memperkenalkan 2 member barunya, Gitaris Stuart Anstis dan Keyboard Damien Gregori sekaligus memperkenalkan sosok Female Vocal latar yang namanya dibesarkan oleh COF ini, Lady Jezebel Deva yang kini sukses bersolo karir dengan nama Sarah Jezebel Deva. dan tidak lama setelah ini ditahun yang sama COF langsung melempar Full album ke-2 " Dusk... and Her Embrace " yang menjadi album Populer ke-2 COF setelah " The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh ", disini COF kembali menambah 1 gitaris dengan masuknya Gian Pyres, album ini mendapat respon yang sangat luar biasa sekaligus melambungkan nama COF sebagai Band Black Metal Populer dengan menjual Jutaan keping Rilisan dan menembus beberapa tangga Chart Musik Internasional. selanjutnya pada album ke-3 " Cruelty and the Beast " tahun 1998 yang lirik dan konsepnya mengangkat legenda Hungaria " blood countess ", yup sosok Elizabeth Báthory yang terkenal itu menjadi album perpisahan COF dengan Drummer Fantastik melalui teknik bermainnya, Nicholas Barker tahun 1999 mengundurkan diri, dan sebagai penggantinya ada Mantan Drummer At The Gates, Adrian Erlandsson yang kebolehannya dicoba langsung pada Ep " From the Cradle to Enslave " tahun 1999 dengan menampilkan Track fenomenal buat para blacker " From the Cradle to Enslave " ! dan dalam perjalanannya hingga sekarang COF yang masih menyisakan Dani Filth sebagai Member orisinil band kerap melakukan Bongkar pasang formasi membawa Banyak dampak perubahan gaya bermusik COF yang saat ini lebih terasa Extreme Gothic Metal pada 2 albumnya " Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder ( 2008 ) dan Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa ( 2010 ) " biarpun begitu COF masih memainkan konsep bermusik yang semakin mengagumkan. Perlu kalian tau kalo selain menjadi seorang Vokalis, Sosok Dani Filth juga dikenal pernah menjadi Sutradara Film Horror splatter " Cradle of Fear " yang menuai banyak Kontroversi. menjadi salah satu band metal yang sukses, setiap kemasan, penampilan dan Imej COF selalu terkonsep secara Profesional sejak awal band ini dibentuk, dengan gambar2 cover yang menampilkan segi Erotisme vampire perempuan, ga heran beberapa Negara harus melakukan Sensor kover.
